Soundwave Music Therapy is opening a new clinic in World Golf Village on July 1, expanding access to music therapy and adaptive music services for clients in St. Johns County and the surrounding area.

This new space was created with a simple goal: to offer a calm, consistent environment for clients who may benefit from more structure than a home-based session can provide. For some individuals, focusing at home can be difficult. A dedicated clinic setting can help support routine, attention, participation, and meaningful therapeutic work.

A Dedicated Space for Music Therapy

The World Golf Village clinic will serve clients of all ages and abilities. Services available at this location will include:

  • Individual music therapy sessions

  • Group music therapy sessions

  • Adaptive music lessons

The clinic gives families and clients another option for care: a predictable, welcoming space designed for music-based engagement, clinical support, and skill development.

Services for Individuals, Groups, and Learners

Music therapy sessions may focus on areas such as communication, emotional expression, social engagement, attention, motor participation, coping, and quality of life. Goals are individualized based on each client’s needs.

Group sessions provide opportunities for shared music-making, turn-taking, listening, movement, and connection with peers. Adaptive music lessons support clients who want to learn an instrument with flexible teaching strategies that meet their abilities, learning style, and pace.

Board-Certified Therapists

Soundwave services are provided by board-certified music therapists. All therapists hold at least the MT-BC credential, reflecting formal music therapy education, supervised clinical training, and national board certification.

This matters because music therapy is more than music participation. It is a clinical service provided by trained professionals who use music intentionally to support musical and non-musical therapeutic goals.

Clinical Oversight and Accountability

The new clinic will also support Soundwave’s commitment to consistent, accountable care. Therapists participate in routine supervision, case consultation, and treatment review to support high-quality clinical decision-making.

These structures help ensure that services remain responsive, ethical, and grounded in the needs of each client.

Supported by a Multidisciplinary Team

The World Golf Village clinic will also serve as a meeting and collaboration space for the Soundwave team in the area. Music therapists often provide services across homes, schools, healthcare settings, and community organizations without a shared professional space. This clinic gives our team a place to meet, prepare, consult, and strengthen their work together.

Care at Soundwave is supported by a broader team, including clinical leadership, administrative coordination, and data-informed program support. This helps therapists stay focused on providing high-quality client care.
